Message from the Headmistress
You might spot that it is Thursday. This is your final reminder that Hollygirt School will be closed all day on FRIDAY 1st DECEMBER for its annual Prize Giving holiday.
At 0°C, it is certainly the right week to have only 4 working days in it and, if possible, I recommend a snug duvet day tomorrow. Clear all the sniffles and coughs before we start the official countdown to Christmas from Monday!
Should the weather turn seriously bad between now and March, causing transport to be disrupted, news about School will be posted on our website and social media channels. Whilst we contact the local radio stations, their bulletins are slow to update. School rarely has to close (twice in eleven years).
There is so much planned for the build up to Christmas that juniors and seniors have been sent home with a list of key dates so that you are aware of the many events in the 13 school days leading to the end of term.
I am still seeking Christmas hamper items from parents of new pupils to support the Friends of Hollygirt raffle. Could donated items please arrive in school by Monday 11th December at the latest to allow the packers the chance to produce the boxes. They are fantastic prizes. One of them could be yours if you remember to buy your tickets. Each child should have brought home a book of 10 tickets to sell. More are available on request or can be bought at the Christmas Fair on Thursday 14th December.
We had a fabulous Stay and Play session for our Early Years pupils on Monday this week. Enquiries are incredibly high for our 3 – 5 year olds for next year and I urge all those seeking places, or know people who may be about to start looking, that we work on a first come first served basis and cannot reserve places until the full admissions process has been completed.
Following many recent positive conversations with parents about the Hollygirt experience, we wondered if any of you would like to leave us a Google or a Facebook review? There is a handy how-to guide here: https://hollygirt.co.uk/reviews/
I wish you all a pleasant long weekend.
Message from the Head of Juniors
I think we are all looking forward to the long weekend; School is closed to all pupils and staff tomorrow.
In addition to some letters, you should be receiving a summary sheet detailing the rest of term. Please note all the changes and events in the coming weeks and if you have any questions, just ask! It is certainly a very exciting end of term for the children.
Another reminder that our after school care finishes at 5.30pm and all children need to be collected by then. If you are running late, please put alternative arrangements for collection in place to allow staff to leave on time.
Thank you for all your help with learning lines and songs and costume making as the Christmas production rapidly approaches. I am sure this will be wonderful afternoon.
Next week the post box will arrive in Junior School; please make sure all envelopes have surnames and forms on them to avoid any confusion.
Have a lovely long weekend.
