Message from the Headmistress
We have arrived at the end of term. Phew!
For some of us we will be meeting again on Sunday early morning at the airport as we await our flight to go skiing. (Can’t wait!)
After a very busy term, we are all ready for a break. We return to school on Tuesday 17th April to commence the Summer Term.
We are sad to say goodbye to some of our wonderful pupils at the end of this term: Bill and Dora Karatolias and Jessica and Jeremy Hall. We will miss you all and hope you will keep in touch with us. Our best wishes go with you.
We are also sad to see three colleagues depart: Mrs Kara, Mrs Bolton, and Mrs Fisher. All will be enormously missed.
We have appointed a temporary teacher to Spanish though Mrs Kara will return to do final preparation and lead the Spanish GCSE Oral examination and Mrs Bolton will return to teach her Year 10 and 11 classes.
Senior pupils have had 3 days to scour the lost property tables for any missing items of school uniform and we have a mountain left at the end of this term. Much is unnamed. We propose to keep it until the end of the first week back thereafter all will be disposed of: to charity (non-uniform); to the second hand shop or to rubbish.
We return to school on Tuesday 17th April. Can I remind any parents who are leaving the area or considering moving schools that the contractual full term’s notice period required ends on this date.
On behalf of the entire team at Hollygirt, we wish you a happy and restful holiday. Year 11, remember to schedule some serious revision in.
