Extending the nurture, warmth and success that students at Hollygirt experience throughout their school days into a Sixth Form. Students are able to thrive in a supportive community, and this opens the doors to personal and academic growth.
At Hollygirt Sixth Form, our small size is our strength. Students benefit from being at the heart of the Sixth Form, rather than being one of many. This enables students to meet their potential due to the support and personalised study programmes, whilst also providing the Sixth Form experience of independence and opportunities to grow and develop. Students thrive both academically and personally. Our prospectus is available to view here.
Our offer is truly unique amongst sixth forms and colleges. We have the flexibility and expertise to offer real strengths in these areas:-
Sixth formers are an integral part of the Hollygirt and wider community. They grow into future-ready young adults, through developing their skills and confidence. Clear and personalised guidance for higher education and career paths will allow all to make informed choices. Our vision for our students is that they will be equipped with the qualifications and mindset to shape their futures. As valued and valuable members of our society, they will become the best candidates in their chosen fields.
We liaise with universities, organisations and employers to understand the current trends that our youngsters can expect to experience. Whilst we offer traditional A levels and BTEC courses, a key element of our provision is in ensuring that our Sixth Form students have access to opportunities in the community and in school to develop a different set of skills; ones that employers are looking for: critical thinking, creative problem solving, cognitive flexibility, leadership, emotional intelligence, decision making, a sense of purpose, the ability to negotiate and the confidence to hold a conversation.
We dedicate time through an enrichment curriculum that runs alongside the taught courses to develop the students as young people; skills that our students can talk about in university and work interviews. Link to PSHE curriculum – we run a full and varied programme.
