Dear Parents
We’ve made it to the final week of the school and there has been a lot happening.
On Monday we celebrated the successes of our senior pupils in the Rewards Assembly and today we have celebrated the Prep pupils.
Mr Beresford and I took two football teams to play in a friendly festival on Monday. In cold and wet conditions, the Year 7 and 8 pupils played great football and thoroughly enjoyed their participation.
We were delighted to hear about Josh’s sporting achievements outside of school. Josh was also awarded a distinction in his blue belt grading for Kickboxing.
Year 11 attended their Prom at Bestwood Lodge on Friday. All of the pupils looked amazing and they thoroughly enjoyed the evening. Thank you to Mrs Brimblecombe, the Year 11 team and the Events Prefects for organising the Prom.
Mrs Schmidt organised a very successful Year 5 Taster Day for 47 pupils. Pupils experienced a Spanish, Maths, Art and Science lesson in the morning with Miss Nisan, Mr Rollinson, Mrs Smith, Mrs Williams and Miss Veal and team building and sporting activities with Mr Dean and me in the afternoon. We look forward to seeing the pupils again next year.
We have had a lot of exciting trips this week including Escape Rooms for Year 6, a rewards trip to Laser Tag, a VR trip to the University, Alton Towers, cinema and golf, and Yorkshire Wildlife Park. Thank you to the staff who have organised these trips and to the pupils who proudly represented our school.
I have written to all parents about exciting plans for the new term.
I would like to wish you and your children a great summer and I look forward to welcoming them back in September.
Mr Cholerton
