On Thursday 24th May 2018, Miss Ifould was invited to Buckingham Palace where she was presented with a certificate of recognition for 24 years long service to the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.
“On a personal level I felt extremely proud and must thank Dee Carr and David Ashhurst for nominating me. Never did I think on those cold early mornings in Derbyshire with the young people at Hollygirt (hundreds over the years at both Bronze and Silver) that I would be standing in the gardens of Bucking Palace years later.
I would like to congratulate all the students at Hollygirt who achieved Bronze and Silver awards over the last 24 year it was a pleasure and privilege to work with you. If you haven’t already then strive for Gold and keep using those life skills that you have learnt along the way from you involvement in the Award scheme.”
