GCSE Results 2019

A ginormous congratulations to our Year 11 cohort for an incredible set of GCSE results.

An impressive 28% of papers sat by Hollygirt pupils achieved the top 9 and 8 grades, which is equivalent to achieving A*s under the old system. 78% of pupils obtained 5 or more 9 to 4 grades including Maths and English.

A special mention to Aman Ubhi who achieved a grade 9 (A**) in English Language, English Literature, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, History and a grade 8 (A*) in Physics, French and Spanish.

Twins, Jessica and Ryan La, scooped an impressive 18 grades 9 to 4 (A** to C) between them. Jessica has been at Hollygirt for 13 years, from Nursery, and was elected as Head Girl in the 2018-19 academic year.

Mathematics-lover, Shivani Sud, achieved a grade 9 in Mathematics, a grade 7 in Statistics and a grade A in Further Mathematics. Well done!

Unusually for an independent school, we don’t offer places at Hollygirt based on academic standards. Yet, year on year, we obtain outstanding GCSE results which compete with the highly selective schools. Our non-academic standpoint for entry isn’t because we don’t care about academic results (clearly, we do), it’s because we believe that every child who attends Hollygirt School will do us proud, regardless of results. The results are a bonus. First and foremost, Hollygirt pupils will leave here happy, with the necessary kindness, respect and resilience to be successful in the future.

Well done from everyone at Hollygirt School.
