Message From the Early Years Co-Ordinator

At Hollygirt School, our children have access to a rich learning environment, which provides them with the opportunities and conditions in which to flourish in all aspects of their development. It provides balance across all areas of learning. Our ethos respects each child as an individual and values their efforts and interests leading to successful learning.

Last year there were many exciting events that took place in Nursery and Reception. The children took part in a range of activities to support their learning, both in and out of the classroom, including spending time enjoying the Mud Kitchen and Mini-Beast Habitat in our new outdoor classroom, Holly Earth.

This year sees a continuation of our successful Stay and Play sessions, in which parents and their children are invited to come and spend some time with us in an informal setting. This is a great chance to come and meet the staff and hear what we have to say about Hollygirt. We have more exciting events planned this year for our new children as our classes continue to flourish and grow.

At Hollygirt School we follow the EYFS Framework and our highly trained and dedicated staff recognise that all children are unique and individual. Our small classes allow us to really engage with your child and to ensure that the activities planned are tailor made to each individual. We encourage our children to develop their independence and curiosity through purposeful play as well as teacher led activities. Each day provides opportunities for our children to explore, enabling them to develop their confidence and willingness to have a go and to become successful and independent learners.

We warmly invite you to come and visit and to see for yourself what Early Years at Hollygirt has to offer.

Mrs C Scott
