Visit Hollygirt

Personal Tours

Our Headmistress is happy to meet prospective parents and pupils, and show them around the school, by appointment, throughout the year.

Early Years Stay and Play Sessions

Our Stay and Play sessions are aimed at our youngest prospective pupils looking for a place in our Nursery or Reception class (EYFS). The children have the opportunity to join in an hour’s activity with our existing pupils and parents can have a chat with key staff.

All sessions run from 9.00am to 10.00am and we currently have the following dates available:

Wednesday 20th March 2019

Tuesday 30th April 2019

Monday 20th May 2019

Open Days

We normally hold 3 open vents throughout the academic year, where the school is open for prospective families to look around and see what we do. During tours, staff are happy to talk about their departments and pupils will happily show the standard of their work. An open event is a good opportunity for you to see what Hollygirt can offer your child. It allows prospective families who may have visited several schools to compare how the pupils present themselves, what the school feels like, what quality of work is produced and what sort of experience a pupil can expect to have at Hollygirt.

There are lots of things for prospective pupils to do along the way, with souvenirs and literature to take home.

Wednesday 13th March 2019 – Tours at 9.30am and 2.00pm

Wednesday 8th May 2019 – Tours at 9.30am and 2.00pm

Taster Days

Once the Registration Form and fee have been submitted to the Registrar, the child will be invited to spend a day with us at a mutually convenient time. In Junior School these days are informal and based on teacher observations within normal lessons and within the playground. In Senior School the morning assessment includes papers in English, Maths, Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning. Senior children are encouraged to stay for an afternoon of lessons with their peer group. These are arranged individually at a mutually convenient time or on one of our formal senior assessment days.

Year 5 Taster Day in Senior School

Each Summer Term we hold a Taster Day for pupils, currently in Year 5, who are looking for a Senior School place in Year 7. Our next Taster Day will be for children looking for a Year 7 place from September 2020. Pupils are able to experience what lessons are like, sample our lunches and meet current pupils and staff.

Monday 24th June 2019
