Academic Scholarships are offered to pupils entering Year 7, who score highly in their Entrance Assessments and who, in the opinion of the Headmistress, would benefit from a Hollygirt education. These awards are worth up to 25% of the full fee (excluding extras) and are made for the full five years, subject to terms and conditions being met. Occasionally an award may be made to a pupil entering further up the school on academic merit. Scholarships are not means tested.
The school provides a number of means-tested bursaries usually to pupils on entry to Year 7. The value of an award will depend on the level of assessed need and the school’s ability to fund. A full bursary may be available and additional discounted places of between 10% and 50% are offered where funds permit. All pupils holding assisted places must abide by the strict terms and conditions of the award. Bursaries are subject to annual review. For new pupils, bursary applications should be made at the time of registering.
Music Awards are available to gifted musicians upon entry to Senior School. These offer free tuition and examination fees on one instrument or voice. Applicants should normally have reached grade 3 standard.
The school is able to offer temporary assistance, in a number of ways to existing fee payers, in the case of unexpected hardship.
By negotiation, sibling discounts are offered where more than one child enters the school.
