Year 1 have been studying The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch in English.
We have ordered the story by sending each other clues on a pully system involving buckets and string. The tension built as we raced to see who could send their clues the fastest and then order the story.
Then, we made up some mean mixtures of lunch to stop the pesky seagulls and we even made our own lighthouse sandwiches (red and white). Now we’re writing instructions in case we want to make them again in the future.
We have had an industrious, scrumptious, accomplished and jubilant morning. Sorry, we got a bit carried away there with all the vocabulary we’ve learnt from the story!
Sebastian (Year 1), Zack (Year 2) and Ciaran (Year 2) are representing Hollygirt today in the Able Maths Day at Radford Academy.
