Message from the Deputy Head

Dear Parents,

It was great to welcome back our amazing pupils after a half-term break.

We started the week with a Hollygirt School Values assembly.  The assembly outlined the school’s expectations of pupils.  The key message was about giving yourself the best opportunity to success by being Kind, Honest, Resilient and Hard Working.  We had an amazing response on Tuesday with punctuality!

We are pleased with the response of moving Homework Club to our amazing library in the Sixth Form on Villa Road.  All Senior pupils are welcome to use this facility from 4.00-5.00pm. Can I also take this opportunity to encourage pupils to sign up for at least one ECA by completing the form which has previously been sent.

Have a lovely weekend.

Kind regards,

Dave Cholerton
Deputy Head

Message from the Head of Prep

Good afternoon,

I hope you all had a great half term break.

It was lovely to see Year 6 parents and grandparents in school on Wednesday enjoying an afternoon of Art, creating faces inspired by the work of Picasso, using the cubism technique.  Years 3 and 4 will welcome their parents and grandparents into school on Tuesday.

Some of the Prep children have had visits from Mrs Boswell and Dottie for story times this week.  We are enjoying seeing Dottie more frequently in the Prep School.

I look forward to seeing you at Parents’ Evenings next week.  Please arrive via the gate on Villa Road where a member of staff will meet you.  There will be refreshments in the Prep Library.  A reminder that there will be no Multi Sports Club on Tuesday evening due to this.

As part of World Book Day celebrations, children in the Prep School are taking part in a House “Poetry and Prose Reading Competition” on Wednesday 6th March.  Parents are invited to this event, which will take place in the Main School Hall.  In order to accommodate audiences from both Key Stage One and Two, we will be hosting 2 separate assemblies.  For Key Stage 2 parents, this will be from 9.05am to 10.15am and for Early Years and Key Stage 1 parents, from 2.15pm to 3.30pm.  On Thursday 7th March, all children are welcome to come to school in costume if they wish to, dressed as their favourite character from a book or film.

Have a lovely weekend,

Victoria Wright
Head of Prep
