Maths Teacher

Hollygirt School is a small school located in a quiet tree lined pedestrian area, near the centre of Nottingham.  It is a pleasant, happy and friendly community, with high academic standards (though a mixed ability intake) and a lively range of activities.  We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and anyone applying to work with us is expected to share this commitment.  An Enhanced Disclosure is required for the successful candidate.

We are seeking a motivated Maths Teacher who will further promote this key subject working alongside our experienced and dynamic Head of Maths teachings Years 7 to 11.  A commitment to providing at least one extra-curricular activity is required.  The post is full time and may suit a newly or recently qualified teacher.

Hollygirt takes a mixed ability cohort and some children find Maths quite challenging, nevertheless we have high academic expectations of all our pupils.  We follow the iGCSE course.  We enter the National Maths Challenge competitions and the Team Maths Challenge.

The current post-holder also teaches GCSE Statistics after school.  Please indicate on your covering letter if this would be a possibility for you.

The salary is paid on the Hollygirt Pay Scale (HG1 £19,332 to HG9 £34,679 pay rise pending). The starting salary is dependent on qualifications (pro rata to the hours worked if part time).
